Critical and Research Evaluation of Allusions to Traditions (Hadiths) in Gohar Khan Khattak poetry in his Pashto Book on Life of the Holy Prophet, Qalb-ul-Al-Sayar

Abstract

Gohar Khan Khattak wrote a rare book on Seerat (Life of the Holy Prophet) which is regarded as unique for having a plethora of Pashto verses that adds not only to the charm of this work but also delineates some historical events in a terse way. A manuscript of this first book of its kind is showcased in Pashto Academy, University of Peshawar and Library of Peshawar Museum. In this magnum opus of Gohar Khan Khattak, one can find excellent Pashto verses from anthology of his poetic creation , studded therein profusely. Most of the Pashto verses contain allusions to Qaranic Ayah (Verses), Hadiths (Traditions of the Holy Prophet) and historically important religious events and happenings.
